always try to get the core full of materials as quickly as possible
2 defend the core until you can start again it is not important to stay LONG here
3 the materials that are at the core will be made available to you for research after launch
4 improve your available teck
5 go to a map with more different resources
with this cycle you can unlock everything
small tip, it gets really interesting when titanium and sand are plastered on the map
you can also repeat maps several times to collect materials for research
you can get materials to craft via:
-launch pads during the game (gotta research to unlock and craft them though). You can only send a certain amount though and every couple of seconds but you don't have to launch and end your game to get the materials and can research in-game via the research tree.
-launching your core every 10 or so waves depending on the map. You can only launch DURING
launch waves meaning you cannot launch in between (though you can launch materials into space during the waves). The core launches launch all the core materials you have in the core when you end the game. You don't keep them if you quit the match or your core gets destroyed and the game ends.
I think ending a game you won't lose your launched items.
Once you do you can access the tech tree via in-game main menu when playing or by the main main menu when booting up the game.
Each lvl requires different requirements but it's usually:
-complete the previous campaign
-complete it to a certain lvl
-if you vs enemy core you gotta destroy it
-some sort of researched items from the tech tree
-starting materials (this is where your materials from the core launches or during gameplay the launch pads come in).
btw once you finish a stage you can change the starting loadout configuration meaning you can spawn with the max amount of materials allowed for each (like 4k i believe is the default). So long as you collected them via launch pads or core launches when ending a game and have enough you can start with more items in a completed lvl.
But one said that you can access the tech tree outside the game. How you do?
I always access it in a game only. But i can't access it while i am playing a mission.
And about launching pads, do you speak about the little ship we pilot?
1. Main menu when you select campaign you can select the tech tree bottom of the screen. The 2nd way to access is it press the esc key in a game and you can select from one of the 5 option tabs available (btw hit spacebar to pause the game before you do or else you may get screwed by an ambushing enemy fleet).
2. No launch pads are an item you can build once you research them. The little ship i believe is
mining / fighter ship. You can also switch by building a mech pad and switching between 6 different types of mech vehicles/robots.
Anyhow to the main thing; launch pads theres 2 types the core and launch pads.
Core=the thing you start with and feed materials to to build and save when you plan on finishing a match. You gotta finish the match though and you lose the materials if you quit or your core gets destroyed. You can only launch every 10 waves or so when there's a big red top left corner message that says LAUNCH!
Launch pads are buildings you can build. They can launch every 16 seconds (or fewer if you got more advanced ones) and about 100 materials of any materials with each launch (again more advanced=more materials you can fit). Launch pads launch automatically once you supply them with a power source and feed it 100 materials of any type (materials that can fit in the core things like coal, sand, pyrite, water, etc. can't be launched).
Launching things from launch pads won't end the game and if your core gets destroyed or you quite, you still retain the items.
