mass drivers on the other hand is better overall in crossing over boundaries, less spaghetti, more work throughput.
Mass drivers are end game tech, if someones playing campaign new they will not know what that thing is.
I recommend you track the source of your sand and where it's meeting.. a good way to prevent these problems is to build Junctions near your crossing Lines so you can prevent issues of sand or other materials getting into the resource lanes.
I've had problems with Routers accidentally sending sand/pyratite and coal onto my main lines so i just used junctions and overhead bridges to prevent the issues from happening again.
another thing you can do is Sorters and sort out the material you want (it will let them go straight through) while sorters if it finds a material not permitted it will send it to the alternative line if you have one connected.
There are, of course, cases where you can’t avoid it. Like separators, since those dump random stuff on the belt.
i mann'd up and figured ♥♥♥♥ out but sorters and vaults are the best way especially vaults that can be sorted in different ways.
What would be a nice addition: a transmutation device that turns one resource into another (in a suitable relation, i. e. the rarer the output, the more input you need), using power.
