We don't presently have any option to flip screen this way, but it would be worth trying to reset all the preferences back to defaults.
Be sure to use the 'default' branch in Steam to get the 0.8.60 version. The curved screen prototypes could conceivably have some glitch like this.
To reset all preferences, click both VR controller triggers at once. An alternate approach is to use keyboard settings when the mirror window is up, of Backspace and backtick at the same time.
While on the subject of screen manipulation, it would be nice to control the tilt of the screen, etc. I play reclined, this type of controls would be useful. Virtual Desktop is an excellent example of this. You can play games (2D only), watch 3D movies (SBS, OU), etc on a giant virtual screen even laying on your back .
Would it be possible to launch Helixvision in Virtual Desktop, or would it be too laggy?
Vorpx does something like this. It has a desktop mode. You can select your 3D environment and then just select what you want to do or which game you want to start.
Would be cool to also be able to watch 3D movies from within Katanga.
Currently not feasible without rewriting the entire app. It uses the WPF which doesn't know how to draw anything with DirectX, and thus is not compatible with VR.
Could conceivably do a desktop view like Virtual Desktop/BigScreen as a way to get to the UI, but you can already do this with Oculus dashboard and Steam dashboard.
Lots of complexity for low payoff, but if you think it's an important addition, please add it to the requests on HelixVision.com.
I expect to add SBS support reasonably soon, because some games work this way. That will open up the abilty to play some 3D movies.
However, setting up for a full 3D blu-ray stack is unlikely to happen, because of their requirement for a protected chain of data to the screen. I doubt they'd ever certify this display chain as compliant.
