AudioHelpers crash

Tried launching this through Steam and the .exe and it pops-up a
'Audio Helpers - Fialed XAudio2::CreateMasteringVoice()' message.
It then launched to the EULA, I pressed Enter to accept and then the DrillLand.exe has stopped working pop-up happens.

Files all verified fine.

Its an issue with running on Windows 8, I got the exact same problem, down to a T.
I didn't change anything before launching the game on a computer with Windows 10, and it ran perfectly fine. On the game page itself, it does say that the minimum requirement is Windows 10. I really don't think theres any reason it shouldn't be able to run on older versions of windows, other another push to have people as up to date as possible.
Personally I'm very disappointed.

its a windows 8.1 issues, bc ut doesnt get the windows updates including the MCredist files.

I'm having this issue too on 8.1, your link didn't help
I also installed latest VCredist packages.
Btw, does the game work on Win7? I have a feeling that devs just screw something up related to XAudio2 on Win8.1.

And the worst part is that I can't even talk to support - it says "We are unable to offer you service at this time"

Guys you could try to install windows media player 9 or 11(tried both separately and both works for me). Must be some .dll file that the game needs from wmp. This worked at least on linux/proton for me. Game runs fine now. I had the same issue before this fixed it for me.

Doesn't make too much sense, because win10 and win8.1 are incompatible with those versions as far as I know.
I wish I could at least let support know that issue exists
