It looks like TCID might actually work really well with Steam's Remote Play Together.
We've activated it on the store page so we can run some tests... and might even be able to integrate it directly into the game. Awesome! :)
I played the demo with my husband and two friends (all three via remote play, husband and I were on the same router tho), we are in Germany, our friends are in the Netherlands and Turkey, both experienced horrible slowdowns, lags and freezes during the demo.
So many particle effects and moving parts are deffo a huge strain on the stream. Hopefully you'll be able to turn all of that off in the full game? But honestly, as much as I love remote play since not all parties involved need to buy the game, I think in this case it would just run so much better with full online MP support.
Besides that, I did really enjoy my time with the demo. Can't wait for the full game! :)
Root, another boardgame, got it right.
I do appreciate having the option of playing alone, using multiple characters. But being unable to play online with friends is a no no for me.
It's a no brainer. More and more people are stuck at home or we grow up and move away...but we still want to play board games with our friends. I don't get why more board game makers don't get this.
