Bella is crazy???
I've just started a Bella focused play through. I'm suspicious that she is insane. She has an axe in the garage and her husband is no where to be seen. May be she lost a child and it destroyed their relationship or may be she chopped him up, because she's a psycho, and he's in that locked room... in bits. My guess it's probably a nursery for a lost child, but the play through suggests something much more sinister. It's just that line where you kiss her in the library and MC thinks "... if I'd known what she was like I would have cried out for help..." I'm paraphrasing a bit. Having played Acting Lessons I can see sinister undertones forming...

Don't even get me started with the Maya/Josy thing, that is not going to end well...

Ah, the Bella ax murderer theory again. It's been a while. :steammocking:

I'm pretty sure if she had a corpse in the house someone would have noticed the smell. :)

My money is still on a lost child. To be that miserable all the time it has to be something that dreadful, a cheating husband wouldn't be enough.

Possible. But it depends on the "level" of cheating too. [Assuming that's what it is]

There's "banging some stranger" type of simply "loss of trust" (grossly oversimplifying here, absolutely).

And then there's "having an orgy with my hither-to BFF and some additional aggravating factors" -- so there is a bit of a sliding scale to it.

But yeah - I'm VERY curious what exactly that trauma is about ...

One of the things I didnt really pay attention to until my chick play through was the mirror and step stool in Bella's bathroom. The mirror is mounted at the perfect height for a toddler. The bathroom is an odd place to have a step stool, unless it is for a toddler to get to the sink.....

Just noticed that most of the books in the upstairs study area are children's books, "Tortoise and The Hair", "Three Little Pigs", "Wind and the Willows" ect...

I kinda assumed it's a bdsm room.

one of the last scenes on her route she starts doing basic bdsm stuff to you (maybe to get you ready)

Thats a hell of theory btw. We know that Sage was adopted by the Burke's and we have had seen Mr Burke near Bella in some scenes....also Bella is tutoring Sage. I think Bella coundn't raise the child after the death of his husband and needed toput Sage to adoption. The Burke's adopted her and maybe she knows she is her child or she will discover it soon, but for me it would be the kind of story twist that DPC likes

The problem is that Bella's husband has only been gone 3 years and Sage is like 19-20. Bella mentions that she was an OMG sister 18 years ago. So she would have had to given birth to Sage before she went to college which is possible but doesn't explain why there would be toddler stuff in the house she inherited from her parents.

Another thing that is kinda odd/creepy is that Bella's husband James appears to be much older than Bella. I mean in the flashbacks and wedding photo James has more wrinkles than the MC's dad does currently.
Bella's exuding of mama panther vibes in entirely intentional, but Bella being principled and forceful doesn't lean too hard into axe murder territory... unless we're talking about the husband doing something to the child, in which case Bella seems like exactly the type to thermonuclear gung-fu on an abuser, but none of her flash backs support any of that.

Bella also isn't old enough to have gone the Sage route unless she was a literal child prodigy in college

Yes, she has an ax to grind.

She can't stand Jade having hooters as big as hers. =/

I can get on board with a young child lost. based on the step and low mirror (and pulling on my tin foil hat), husband left and hit the skids - he's Quinn's mugger, a deadbeat user after three years. Can't make the muggers face out particularly well, but does have similar heavy eyebrows, and I do love a good conspiracy theory. Possibly a bit out there, but most suggestions seem to be :D

My money is on a dead baby, probably stillborn. Maybe after that she was unable to bear a child or had some other issue, so James couldn't handle it and left.

Of course, the baby's corpse isn't in the room; but stuff she bought for the baby, like children's clothes, books and cradle, etc.

If it were something sinister like the others are suggesting, then Jill wouldn't be with her. Remember, Jill knows everything.

The MC says: "I would have called out for help". Not help for himself, but for her.

It's severe emotional trauma, stemming from the husband or child.

I don't know if I buy her having lost a child, though if the husband had a car accident, which resulted in the death of the child, it could explain it. Having an axe isn't abnormal, it's just a yard tool, like the other tools in her garage.
