Since Zoey visits Neil in the end of ep8 and gets a whole interlude before S3 events, she's probably gonna play some role in unfolding events.

why ask a question that can't be answered via Seasons 1 and 2? For the purposes of Steam, all we know is what is in Seasons 1 and 2.

Think the pregnancy test is for one of the more known girls. Heather maybe (didnt want to discuss her periods during the crossroads meal) ..... something to get Tommy to grow up. However since this a halloween the scariest scenario is thats its Areith. With all those that have slept with her, think of the dread panic that would spill over both frats

I thought alot about the pregnancy test, and still believe that Ashley is the preggo and Derek the daddy. I think this is supported by Elena and Ashley at the Prep party, where Ashley is obviously very emotional about something, and Elena tells MC to get lost. At the Hot's party, Ashley is very emotional when Derek texts, and she pretty much ignores Ant afterward.

Later when Derek is looking for Ashley at the Hot's house, he finds her in the upstairs hallway and we hear them for a few seconds.
Ashley: "Yeah, I went to see him, but Derek....I don't know what to do."
Derek: "I want you, Ashley"
This was IMO a reference to Ashley seeing a doctor about the pregnancy, then talking with Derek to decide what to do about it.

I don't believe that DPC would wish to involve MC in a pregnancy at this point in the story, since this would severely limit his progression in all the other branches.

Not necessarily. Ashley was hella upset (pretty much heartbroken) after she saw Derek screw Wendy, she later didn't talk with him for a while (first ignoring him, then retorting with smth like "I hate you!", which he describes to MC at some point) and got with Anthony. But later it becomes evident that she still feel something for Derek. So it could be that Elena was comforting Ash after her breakup with Derek (hence why she shooed MC, it's girls-only talk), and later - Ash being torn between Ant and Derek. Not to mention that "I want you" isn't an answer you give to a girl carrying your child and not knowing what to do about it.

Also IIRC Derek and Ashley only became a kinda thing during ep3, which doesn't set enough time for her to get pregnant AND learn about it prior to preps' party in ep5 even if they banged raw on get-go.

I also think that what we see at the end of season 2 are things from the near future. Nora as a science teacher, Cathy starting the new job, Zoey arriving. These are not things of the past. So also the pregnancy test would not be something that was done before the hellweek party (Ash comforting Elena) or before the time Derek is looking for Ash.

True that there is no definitive answer to this question, but it's possible that Ashley and Derek had been together a bit longer than we think. They seemed to be into each other from the first meeting, and Ashley is one of the few girls to never show any interest in the irresistible MC. I think she was so upset about Wendy due to her intimacy with Derek, and in my opinion, had no deep feelings for Anthony.

"I want you, Ashley" could be a foreshadowing of a more permanent relationship between Ashley and Derek. They obviously have deeper feelings for one another, and Derek may be ready to settle down with Ashley...maybe even leaving school (although I'd hate to lose Derek as a major character). In my estimation there was enough time for her to get pregnant by Derek, although barely (but not enough time for Anthony to be the father).

I don't think the preg test is a future event, these events all seem to be happening in real time IMO.

In answer to the original topic question, I would say that yes, Zoey is poised to become a major player in the future storyline, but seriously doubt that this is due to pregnancy by MC. My best guess is that she matured a bit while away, and decided to try to renew her relationship with MC.

Agreed...I think I most enjoy the speculation. I'll wait for Season 3 in its entirety, otherwise the story seems too disjointed.
