Seems like the point of the interlude was to give her enough back story to be a potential love interest. Only real question is whether she will be a main girl or a side girl like most of the others. I'm hoping for a main girl path for her and Quinn in future seasons.

I've been thinking about it a lot and I'm convinced Zoey is actually an alien and is here to harvest your internal organs to sell on the black markets of Galassa 4 to raise enough money to open a store selling space kittens. You can tell by the way she smiles that there's a thread of alien DNA in her genome. Who wouldn't want a space kitten?
