No release date for Season 3, DrPinkcake is working on episode 10 now, and there is 4 episodes per season, when he is finishes episode 10, DrPinkCake will still have to finish episodes 11 and 12 to complete Season 3.
Season 3 will have the interlude and episodes 9-12, best guess for the release of Season 3 is late 2025 or early 2026.
DPC wants it to be perfect.
DPC doesn't force you to support him during the full development cycle. You simply can wait until he updates the Steam post after he releases the new Ep, subscribe at that point again, download the new Ep, then drop your sub. Stop whining.
I've seen other developers that force the patron to be a subscriber for a number of months to be able to download their game, that's not the case with DPC.
He posts regularly previews of the upcoming Ep so you can see he's not idle.
Put another way - "quality takes time" - especially if you're a solo dev & working on something the scope & quality that BaD has been so far,
Not everyone out there is a douchenozzle - something worth bearing in mind perhaps.
2026? I don't even know Ill be alive then lmao
Back when episode 9 came to Patreon is when I subscribed, went the $10 level, then bumped it to $15 after the walkthrough came out. I dropped back down, but kept going because the updates are worth it, and seeing what is actually going on with development makes the wait a LOT easier.
So, episode 10 is still in the works, with 11 and 12 needed before the season is finished and it goes to Steam at that point. Note that it went from March to December of 2022 for episode 9, and episode 10 has been in development since then.
I won't spoil it with any teasers(because that would break the rules), but I can honestly say that episode 9 made me do at least 40 extra playthroughs of seasons 1 and 2, because so much is there that you would only see under certain circumstances, and even then, I still get a different scene here and there in episode 9. Seriously, there's a lot of choices in the first two seasons that have different impacts on things in episode 9.
With that level of depth, plus what DPC has said in the status updates, I'm almost afraid of how many times I'll replay again to get this or that to trigger.
So, go Patreon when episode 10 comes out if you don't want to subscribe right now, and you will be good for at least 8 months of play, so your wait for episode 11 without anything new will be relatively short.
Essentially - yes - this,
If you're impatient - that's a you problem - but can be solved by checking out Patreon.
There's *SOOO* many little things & changes from apparenty inconsequential decisions (one of my favourites being early in S1E1 being 'the angry kid' with the coke machine having interesting payoffs / changes towards the end of S2 (at a party & news article potentially), for example.
DPC has a very interesting & good eye for tiny story details (and doesn't really advertise them - they're just there for those who notice them & pick them up). It's why I've got so many playthroughs of S1 and S2.
... even if I could never bring myself of essentially sabotaging Jill's recital so far - I may do (if I feel heartless) to see how that'd pan out in S3 / S4.
It's really one of the most underrated drivers (for me) for replayability - not just some ME3-level "different end choices == different colour lazers" ... but ACTUAL, (even season-long) delayed tiny trickles & changes of butterfly effects. :)
By 2026 I think the world would have ended as Russia and China would of destroyed the world in a nuclear war.
The way it works is that the OFFICIAL word will come out after Episode 10 is complete and released on Patreon. As far as "almost a year", it was in December of 2022, so 10 months at this point. Note that if you want updates, $1/month on the Patreon will give you the status updates, even if you get nothing else.
