Do yourself a favor and play through Season 2....you won't be disappointed.
I never received any negative feedback.
The best way to look at it is from the many different playthroughs you will get. You know from Season 1 you had a number of choices, well, season 2 makes you really feel like your choices matter, so you will play the game in different ways. Many see D I K/Neutral/Chick as the obvious different ways to play, but then, your choice of who you go with at the end of chapter 3 in season 1, and how that plays into season 2. Now, season 3, without spoilers, it does completely continue on, so your choices from the first two seasons continue to make for differences, and scenes you only get if you made certain choices in the first two seasons. I went from around 20 playthroughs of season 1 and 2 to over 60 after I started playing Episode 9(yep, I'm on the Patreon).
It just keeps getting better as the game progresses.
