Affinity vs Status

I understand the difference between the two. I understand how they change.
What I am curious about is what exactly is the point of that Status meter? I get that it can only toggle between the two extremes as they are defined by your Major Choices.

I guess what I'm getting at is it seems that any restricted actions are restricted by affinity - not by status. So is status even needed? I mean I had ♥♥♥ affinity, but was status Chick (-7) for a time - but it made no difference in choices that were barred if you have a ♥♥♥ affinity.

So I'm just wondering if it's a point to have it - for anything other than simply tracking how many minor Chick vs ♥♥♥ choices you made.

Affinity and status may or may not change dialogues and options you can choose. For example, MC tends to use "hot" to complement girls while having D status and "beautiful" while having N or C status.

Some dialogue options are greyed out unless you have "Huge D I K" status or CHIK status. For instance very early in the game when you're having the initial interactions with Sage and the alphas you can make a joke to check out how far up Sage's G-string goes, but only if you have Huge ♥♥♥ status.
I started a new game just to get as much D I K status as possible from the beginning to be able to see what it does.
it was a bitt disappointing though.

thanks for the responses. I just noticed last night that as I was going through a couple scenes again (with diff status) that the dialogue was slightly different - so that's when it dawned on me the significance of that status. Very nice touch. Essentially our personality/temperament alters the interactions around us - art imitating life.

Seen that description being passed around on discord and forums and i think its rather accurate.

Most notable differences in dialogue are the jokes and compliments. Hot vs beautifull etc.

There are also different scenes you may not notice.
During episode 5,when MC sneaks into preps' party and borrows a suit to wear, he can make a signal to D I Ks. I got a scene that MC thumbed up to them and a different scene that he made a dance move and Rusty saw him and laughed.
During episode 8,when Josy tells MC that everyone saw his d*ck pic, MC will either think it is awesome or hope no one knew it was his d*ck cuz it's distinctive.

Note for those not aware, the JOKES will also be different based on your status or affinity. It's actually funny, if you look at the walkthrough/guide, you see certain things that indicate + or - relationship if you are D I K, Chick, or Neutral, even for the same choice of, "joke". That is due to the joke being different. Bella is NOT amused at some of the jokes, though as players, you should love the reaction to the joke.
