How come Acting Lessons is MacOS supported and Being a ♥♥♥ isn't?

The reason for this is that Apple recently forced a policy with mandatory notarization of all apps on their systems. This means that all games distributed through Steam must be notarized.
This requires a macOS systen, Apple Developer's ID and a notarization process that's not instantaneous.

I cross compile my applications, I don't own a mac and going through the process of notarizing every patch/release is too much work for me at the moment. It can't be streamlined for an indie developer such as myself.

For this reason, I can't support macOS on Steam at this moment. I don't know if I will be able to do this in the future even.
I can only support it on Patreon (with unsigned builds) throughout the entire game, so that's the current situation for macOS players.

Thanks for understanding that this is out of my hands.

The quality is exellent. I can see theres been plethora of work. Thats not the point.
Point is, dont give reason that does not exist. I'm talking about one notarization.

Here's a funny updata:
I subscribed to Dr. Pinkcake patreon site last week $9/m. I got to download seasons 1-2 on macos. Everything played smoothly and I finnish the game to the clifhanger to season 3. Then came the update to version 0.8.2, that i downloaded and installed. After that game doesnt start so I figure to redownload the main game, but price was $22/m now. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thats greed, Iol. Cancelled Patreon right there.
In a nutshell. Theres everything ready to notarization, but why do it when you can pump up prices any way you like in patreon.

Tell me you didnt read anything related to patreon or earlier in this post without telling me xD the patreon macos builds are NOT "ready for notarization", they're unsigned builds. Please find yourself some info before you talk bs.

Not too mention its your own fault for deleting the game and trying to redownload the WHOLE game for just a patch? If you had any issues you could've asked on discord, thats on you.

No it's not greed. DrPinkCake made that change because Season 2 is finished and will be releasing on Steam, and DrPinkCake wanted to avoid angry Steam users that have to pay $34 for Season 1 & 2, instead of the $10 on Patreon. So the tier was changed to $25 for the full binary of Season 1 & 2. He announced that on December 6th, and the change took place on the 10th. DrPinkCake urged all patrons to download the full two seasons immediately, and save a backup copy for any future use.

The 0.8.2 patch probably didn't work, because it was probably applied wrong, for some reason a lot of users have issues applying patches, but it's really not difficult.

If you still have the zip file for the full game binary, then all you have to do is remove the installed one, and reinstall.

That just it. I don't cuz osx automatically unzips and trashes the zip file. I wouldn't be here crying about it if I had it. I didn't get the memo for making backup's, that's my bad.
Price should always be tied to content. If the content remains same so should the price.
Why would you ever compare Steam users to Patreons? I don't get that.

Price should always be tied to content. If the content remains same so should the price.
Why would you ever compare Steam users to Patreons? I don't get that.
I think you misread what I typed. I'll reiterate. Since Season 2 is coming to Steam (and GOG), DrPinkCake wanted to balance the cost. Before December 10th, a patron could get the 19.5GB zip file at the $10 tier.

DrPinkCake had concerns that if the Steam users knew (after they paid $34 for Seasons 1 & 2), that Patreon users were getting the same content for $10, the Steam users would get mad. So to alleviate that, DrPinkCake switched the full binary of Seasons 1 & 2 to the $25 Patreon tier.

The switch wasn't about greed, it was to avoid pissed off Steam (and GOG) users.

On the flip side, now Patreon users will be getting the full binary of Season 3 at the $10 tier.

If you already were a patron before the December 10th cut off date, try talking to DrPinkCake.
