Just note that you have to click the little floppy disk icon above the post after selecting the 1.52 patch link. This will download a fixed .exe file to replace with the old one.

The first problem and most irritating problem I had was with the impossibility of making fleets however I felt like making them, I can understand it is made to remain close to the military theme of back then but in a game this just doesn't work AT ALL and is just too damn clunky
The second annoyance is the impossibility to rename fleets, though it is true it seems trivial it would allow to easily know wich fleet was where and needs what allowing the game log to be more useful in general
and really thats not all of it but I'll stop here before making this a wall of text with no other purpose than rant
If you select the f2 key while a fleet is a a port you can in fact renaim it. use this all the time. Hope this helps. and yes it was designed to give the user a 100% like imersion to the second world war.
say: allow ships to sidestrafe be more accurate, toggle gun aiming on and off without having to hold Ctrl and have Carriers have unlimited aircrafts
Edit:is it possible to set the minimum engineers for a base o have so the AI automatically sends more engineers if it goes under a certain level ?
Is it possible ?
and if yes would it be hard to do ?
2: toggle gun aiming on and off withought having to hold Ctrl- yes, however you would have to change one of the LUA files or generate a hole new file. Possible yes but not realy worth the time it would take to make it.
3:carriers with unlimited aircraft- yes, you would have to create a new aircraft formation that allows thousands of planes and increase the carry weight of the carrier. This is a more complex GameParam change
4-change the engineers for a base at 0 so that the AI send engineers to the base. There is already a form of this, go to the transportation menu under the base and tell the AI to ship more of that kind of unit to that base, this also works with other cargo. To make the AI do it automaticly, Yes. but you would need to create a new LUA script for the game. Again, not sure if it's worth the time spent on it.
All in all, everything you have sugested is possible however not all of them are very time effecient. If what you want is a game that is more bang bang over the stragegy you could change things in the GameParams that make ships build faster and their guns fire faster and aircraft's weapons do more damage. You can also increase resource productoin to remove the need for resource management.
1: download the patch from the link I gave you
2: download the fixed .exe from the link I gave you
3: run the 1.52 patch installer
4: it should in the process ask you were your game is. direct it to: C:\programs\or programs files(x86) if you have Windows 7\steam\steamapps\common\pacific storm allies\
5: continue instalation of the patch
6: replace the new.exe file with the old .exe file
7: your done. Please note when you log into your game it will nat say version 1.52 however the patch is installed correctly if the game runs.
the error might simply be saying that it doesn't know where the files are for the game.
if in step number 4 it does not ask you where the files are, please put the 1.52 patch installer in the directory then run.

I never thought this post would get so popular
The instal defaults to
C:/Users/(Insert name)/AppData/Local/Temp/(Random name)
I tried as suggested to put the Installer in the game's folder
(Steam/steamapps/common/Pacific Storm Allies)
As well as the Bin folder in the afore mentionned folder
neither worked and the install kept defaulting to
C:/Users/(Insert name)/AppData/Local/Temp/(Random name)
Regardless
also whenever I run the instal it doesn't finnish and pops up a error message window thats full of question marks ( ? ), another 1.52 patch said to be for the US version has the same problem but the error window that comes up mentions something is wrong with the "Integrity of the game install" or something like that....
1: move all of your game files to:C:\Program Files (x86)\CDV Software Entertainment USA\Buka and Lesta\Pacific Storm Allies (where folders don't exist create them)
2: put the installer in the new game file directory
3: run the patch installer making sure to link it to the games .exe file (this is crutial)
4: replace the old .exe with the new .exe
5: you can either leave the game files here (recommened) or move them back
6: try running the game now.
If you are still having problems I'll create a video tutorial for you
