This is my favorite game, I have almost no bugs. For all of those who DO have bugs please check out the Pacific Storm forum. Download the 1.52 patch, pluss this game is still very well supported. Our modders (myself included) have made modder made patches. I recommend you check out the Samuri Spirit mod or Rising Sun mod. Both of these fix many bugs and add many new units and fix some graphical errors. If you have already given this game bad review please check out these fixes and if it helps and you can enjoy the game after that please change your review. Again this is my favorite game and I want to see it get better ratings. ALSO! this game was ahead of it's time....thus meaning you still need a good powered com♥♥♥♥r. I had many crashes untill I upgraded my CPU now no crashes at all! Please check online for the recommended specs. Steam specs lie on this game. Ok thats great to know i gives me hope , i can get this working good some how .. i have a steam version and another version think its the uk version and thats the one ive been trying kinda gave up on the steam one so the version im working on is allies v 1.5.11082 with the ss mod v2.06 my issue is i can play for awhile and get so far then somewhat into a good battle it crashed i was ready to give up untill i seen your post im just over spending alot of time and that happens ,, so any help you can give would be great not sure if this info will help but thats what im running it on ,, any info you can give will be helpful like any mods i should have or patches

Hey Dazza,
well I'm here to help so let's get down to buisness!

I'm just going to put a list of things to try if you have tried them dissregard them and if you havn't well give them a shot.

1: run game as an administrator

2: run game with compatiablilty mode set to XP SP 3

3: make sure the game is installed in the ProgramFiles(x86) folder not the ProgramFiles folder

4: uninstall and reinstall withought the SSMod

5: if you are able to play well without the SSMod try installing it again and see if the mod is your problem

6: remove any other mods that are running with the SSMod

7: decrease the graphic settings (the game [excluding a fix in our 1.6 patch] does not use much RAM and so is very tasking for your CPU and GPU and can cause crashes if your settings are too high

8: update ALL drivers (major thing here, this can fix a lot of problems)

9: check your crash log for info

10: make sure you use the UK patch with the UK version of the game, if you use the US patch with the UK version it becomes unstable.

give these things a shot and if it doesn't help send me your crash log and I'll figure out what is causing you problems.

The first time I played this game it worked great. I went through the tutorial, and messed around a little with the hitorical campaign.

However, it has crashed everytime I have tried to start it up since the first time. It starts to load up and then crashes. Every time.

I have a gaming laptop purchased a few months ago. Its an MSI, with windows 8.1, I7 processor @ 2.4 ghz, 12 gb of ram, and a Nvidia Geoforce 765m video card. Trust me, it can run this game. Its running the Elder Scrolls Online and Rome Total War 2 at the highest settings.

I dont want the get the game though a torrent to get the 1.52 patch, so unless someone has a suggestion, I guess I just have to wait for the 1.6 community patch.

Hey scotters, yes indeed your computer can run this game. I would try running the game in compatability mode for windows xp sp 3. If you had any headset/joysticks plugged into your computer at the time when it worked plug those in when you try to start it back up (I'm unsure why this can sometimes cause a crash but it does) Decrease the number of units allowed at once. And just for kicks and giggles try turning down the graphics and finaly update all of your drivers. Hope this helps.

Yeah this games great I got a hold of it the other day, was hard to get into at first but once you start to learn all the little details to it its pretty awsome, really awsome. only thing wrong with it is the bad interphase id say, but not so bad once you learn it. and lack of multiplayer for campaing was disapointing. however i can say this is one of my favorate war games, really wish theyd make another game like it, keep the learning curve and make a pacific storm 3 or a whole world war 2 game like this with atlantic and pacific would be great. really love this game hope they make another one day with a grand campaing like this.

AND THE FACT THAT THERES A UNIT EDITOR AND YOU CAN BASICLY DESIGN YOUR OWN SHIPS AND PLANES BEFORE PUTTING THEM INTO PRODUCTION SIMPLY MAKES THIS GAME ONE OF THE GREATEST WAR GAMES EVER! :) i just seen that

Hey, Glad your game is running well. I'm assuming that you want it to english, I don't use the steam versoin so I'm going to take a shot and say that there is a language selection somewhere (don't ask me where) or that when you downloaded the game you downloaded the russian language version. If neither of these apply you will need to get new .lua text scripts from the english version and put them in the mods folder. If you don't have a way to get these language scripts let me know and whenever I can I'll upload mine for you to use (I have the US disk version)

No ctds at all. Im playing with 30 Ships and 70 Planes in Battle. Its great. :)
But my Torpedo Bombers wont land on my carrier ? Any ideas ?

P.S: Auto Land is on, i also give the "Landing" order but nothing happens. The planes start a landing attempt but nothing happens.

That's odd, I havn't had this problem. can you land it manually?

yes i can give the order and the planes fly towards the carrier. They try to land i think, but even before the landing pad, the plane drifts away to the right side.

Is it possible that the carrier is already maxed out with aircraft?
