Trading bases?
Hey folks,

It's been a few years since I really did a campaign for Allies, and now that I started one again as a 'Free Campaign', something is a bit off.

If memory serves, I seem to remember that the other nations (Germany, USSR, ect.) were able to gain bases on the map, even though they are unplayable factions, and do not start with any territories in the one I am playing now. Additionally I seem to remember being able to trade bases/territories in the diplomacy menu, yet I can't seem to do it.

In the current campaign, Japan declared war on everyone, and my relations with the UK are high, and Germany at 100%. I decided "Hey, screw it. Lets get Germany on the map", and made an agreement to capture a base for Germany for 20 JU-88's, thinking that once I capture it, ownership will be turned over to Germany. Instead, I kept the territory, and the agreement was fufilled, contrary to my plan. Going through the negotiation menu, I couldn't find a way to give Germany the base, even though I remember being able to in the past. What am I missing here? Is there a way to transfer base ownership, or is my memories just a figment of my imagination, and I'm just going crazy?

You can trade bases by signing a new agreement, sometimes a nation won't trade with you however you can always just give a base away. Just go to sign a new agreement and you can add trade base to the menue, and if another nation is willing it will be under their selection as well.

I find that an awesome tactic is to trade awy bases that are about to fall to the enemy, specifically those islands bases with little worth. Can be traded away from a great profit and you don't technically loose the base.
