Picker Pals plant selection is really bad...
It has to be improved in any way, it's very annoying to see Picker Pal constantly go to the furthest possible, slows down production in not-so-fun way. For some reason they pick up the furthest plant to harvest, pick another one that is far away from them from current position, pick 3rd that is not on the way back, go back to drop the cargo, and then after another round of "the closest plants do not exist on this mortal plane" the far away plants regrow and the cycle restarts. I need to put up to 4 Picker Pals to do job the single properly working Picker Pal would do.

You just can't convince me this is good - loving the game so far, but this... this is just slowly killing me inside.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Edit: I realized that if you hover over the picker station it shows you the grid it's going to search in. Makes a bit more sense.

It having a visible grid doesn't change the fact that it arbitrarly picks the worst possible gathering path possible most of the time. Its either I set up the way I have to save on light/space and struggle with bad pathing or try to build around and place it "smartly" but sacrifice the power that I struggle with anyways because of random behaviour of Picker Pals making the energy very finicky.

Sadly they only way currently is to just throw more and more picker pals at it until you have a large swarm of them.

Then when you do start to get a backup on the items they are picking, well then they break and you have to delete and replace the picker pal or it worn't start working again.

Why would one even care about it, after 1 hour since start you have 15+ pals and it does not matters anymore.

Hi guys, We've been getting lots of feedback about the pickerpals. I'm going to talk to the team about the best solution. two in mind is
1. to make the patches smaller/ more condensed so there's less rng with their selections,
2. speeding up the pickerpals

WE WILL BE FIXING THIS. This is high on our list of things to address

I don't really like that solution for this is to throw more of Picker Pals just to keep up with my needs instead of having more consistent or smarter picking selection especially when I don't have space for that. It's like banging the wall with the head in hopes to break into other side.

That is great to hear, but IMO point 2 isn't really an issue. I'm feeling that their speed is good enough for what they are doing, it's just all the unnecessary walking they are doing. Making smaller patches or reducing somewhat range of Picker Pal should be enough - from what I noticed, Picker Pals have enough range to reach two or three resource patches, so it feels more like their range is an overkill considering how hard is it to deplete a medium sized patch with 4-5 Picker Pals (especially when they decide to wander off for adventure:)).

you could add a smaller area as a higher priority.
so if you manage to run that patch dry then it will go farther out to find plants.

Smaller gather area for the pickers, and smaller/denser patches that can be hit from multiple sides by pickers would help out. Because, yeah, they spend a lot of time trundling back and forth in a pretty wide area now. Very inconsistent.

Going from a 30x30 grid down to a 16x16 grid would likely be more consistent.

Oh, seems like just in time. I just hit the point where picker-pals available in the game start to feel insufficient for everything I want them to harvest. As in, I've got everything from every pod, placed them all and still lacking.
