Does your backpack despawn?

I died while running around in the dark, is searched the whole area where i died but dont see any golden glow of the backpack, does it despawn after a while?
Is there a better way to find it again?

It does not despawn, it might just be lost in the dark.
There is currently no way to easily find it outside of going back into the dark

very weird, with the golden glow it should be kinda easy to find even in darkness if you zoom out to the max but just couldnt find it
