Report a translation problem
1) The old system where soundtracks were basically DLC of a game. This generally put the files in to the game directory. The downside of this system was that you had to install the game if you wanted your soundtrack files. So you couldn't just download the soundtrack to the game. It also meant you had to own the game on Steam to get the soundtrack. Some people just wanted the music but not the game if they already had the game on a different platform, or just liked the music.
2) The new system, soundtracks are still "DLC" but they can be purchased independent of the base game. This also made it possible to download a soundtrack but not have to install the base game. They are also in their own category in your library under "Soundtracks"
