I loved the review. One of the few fails, common on this games, is the IA being weak. Don't get me started in Civ6 notoriously ridiculous (look at the patches and Dlcs all this years) IA.
So... next 9 hours I'll wait patiently and looking forward to play it.
Salute!!!
I recommend playing a session of Humankind where they don't exist during your timeline to fix the situation ^_^
However, actually producing a more-or-less credible and reasonably authentic review and they still get attacked shamelessly in pretty much every which way from the reviewer's supposed lack of gaming experience to their personal integrity by the folks who can't bear to hear anything bad said about something they've blindly invested so much in already.
Good luck with the game later today, folks. I hope it is massively better for you than IGN suggests it is.
Well, to be fair, there have been some pretty blatant examples of a lack of journalistic integrity in the video game space. Lots of favors, both monetary and other bouncing around. So I wouldn't be too quick to put any faith in game reviews anymore. That doesn't mean you can't find valuable insight into games by reading and/or watching reviews. You just need to be able to separate the objective info from the subjective. Not always easy, but if you're careful.
LOL Nobody wants to be the outlier do they? Will we look like idiots if we give it a 7 and everyone else gives it a 10? And then the public ends up loving it as well?
I played the first game start to finish 3 times. One of my all time favorite games. Couldn't manage more than a few hours with the second. But I also know that was just me in large part. I'm an older guy with children. I can understand the situation Joel was in and why he was as he was. It really resonated with me. A very character driven experience. The second had no main characters that I could relate to. I'm sure it was a great experience for those who could relate.
Yeah. Kind of human nature though. I do agree that it should be pointed out. As you have. So other readers get to see the situation more clearly.
