There Can Be Only One Achievement

Is it just me, or does winning the game with AI that were destroyed by other AI do not count towards the 9 needed for the achievement? It seems to be impossible keeping enough of them alive, especially when they don't seem to properly defend themselves.

And isn't it sometimes about winning the game against 9 AI at the highest level, via fame or some other set win option, today I did against 3 on the smallest map, I slaughtered all of them but was second in fame, so it seems to me that you just have to be first in any win condition, in the days I will start this achievement and let you know how it went.

EDIT: I won on my island map, someone achieved the goal before me. not even sure what goal but before that I already had the space mission done but continued for fun with AI and other achievements, most fame, generally easy with the island map because the AI is poor with cities and easy to play even on the highest level with 9 AI.
