Not going to the next era lets you complete more objectives for score points.
Note theres extra reasons to not rush in Neolithic.
1. getting units/population via gaining food from exploring the map and killing stuff.
2. completing all 3 objectives lets you pick a bonus trait of +1 to food, production or science per population in cities/outposts. This is a good bonus.
Downside to delaying is the other factions in game might take the culture you want stopping you from taking them.
I rushed in one game and thought it was too fast. You're right about the +1 food bonus.
Actually, you just need to finish the Science collectible one for the legacy trait bonus. You can ignore the other two and still get the trait.
I totally agree. The current era progression feels like civ6 on multiplayer mode.
