how to i fight Pollution?

Nothing you can really do once it's out there.

You can avoid creating pollution, and some techs reduce emissions, but nothing remove pollution that was already created.

And nothing you can do about the AI polluting.

Pretty half-baked feature.

Plant trees. Not sure how much this does just yet, but trees. Plant 'em. I planted a few in my game and saw it through to the end, so it must help some.

the wiki says that each forest planet reduces pollution gain for 2 turns by 20. So if global pollution is 21, for 2 turns it will be 1

In practice, you plant forests in the districts that are polluting so that you equal it all out.

Don't worry about it much, its very bad mechanic in its current state. One game i tried making only very few pollution buildings, and i was top polluter anyway by far, while only one other empire had any pollution. And i barely got to end of the game anyway. There is mod that cancels pollution game over, i recommend using that until devs fix this mechanic.

You got to metagame and avoid pollution buildings. Or plan on ending the game before pollution ends it. Which makes no sense compared to IRL because humanity has been playing the IRL game very effectively with zero craps given about pollution until recently and we are fine.

Build districts ON the forest tile. If you move camera back that tiles with district will be green. Just planting forest dont do anything (lol). Point mouse on tile with district it will say on what tile it was builded. They really should add plant forest IN district. Otherwise you need to runsack district plant forest and build district again (wtf).

I found the mod, but using game pass so no way to install, stopped playing as pollution is just making it pointless.

On your end pollution basically disappears as soon as you get Nuclear Fission and Renewable Energy techs and build those upgrades, and that's a very short trip from the end of the industrial era when the pollution causing upgrades become a thing. Only airports and farming districts will continue to cause potential issues for your regions, but the Fusion Reactor tech solves that as well.

There's nothing you can do about the AI causing a lot of pollution though, other than go to war with them if they are clearly causing a problem.

I just dont build any of the infrastructure that adds pollution to makers/farmers quarters till I have renewable energy tech up and rush fission reactor (not very long rush). Im only on nation difficulty atm so havent needed aerodromes/airports/missile silos yet and only build one "spine" of train stations rather than put them all over

There's a mod you can manually install that multiplies the max pollution amount by x10. That may help too.

If you download the app, it's very easy to install/un-install mods.

Use the mod AOM linked to and just remove it, its a ridiculous game feature that simply just ends the game because the AI dont notice it.
