Our issues have been the regular Tuesday night Steam server reboot that happens every Tuesday night at the same time (shuts down voice chat and regular chat/friendslist as well). Then we have had few times so that "Lobby creator has disconnected from the game" which puts us back into the menu/multiplayer lobby and the lobby creator has to re-invite the other player. Other than that, nothing else on the MP side.
Well, other than that you can't join your friend's battle or siege and help them out because the game doesn't allow multiple participants in battles; they are all 1v1 and if your friend's units happen to be close by when the battle starts and they are inside the battle area, their units are locked and unaccessible until the battle ends.
We play a lot of Endless Legend, and although we sometimes get the "desync" warning, we have never been completely disconnected or even really noticed the desync affecting things. So, I'm hoping the very frequent disconnects are a bug instead of permanent server/network error in multi-player. I really enjoy the game when we can play, but at the moment we can only play halfway through before the disconnects break it.
The devs clearly expected their game to be more popular and multiplayer friendly than it is.
