Other relgious archetypes besides polytheism and Shamanism

The entire religious system feels a little shallow but i find it very strange that the variety of regions is so limited to just polytheism and shamanism who only give slightly different faith bonuses and have no differences otherwise, when some of the major faiths in human history include monotheistic ones Judaism,Christian,Islam,etc. and non theistic but spiritual ones like Buddhism, there really should be a great deal more to religion when it had a huge impact on humanity through history into the modern day and in this game it feels like just a random small bonus you can grab.

The end of religion is no religion as well so there is no real choice other than simply not picking a final civic for religion.

The bonuses from religion in Humankind do provide a massive impact. The names mean nothing just read the bonuses.

I mean maybe its just me but Shamanism should operate very differently from monotheism and non theistic religions, like religion has a huge role through out human history in the way humans interact and understand each other and in this game goes pick a vague concept than grab a handful of bonuses okay your done. it just seems like a huge missed opportunity.

Agreed, the religion system in this game is one of his main weak points, it's just a half baked mechanic that's doesn't have any depth to it.

You can change it when you get a tenet, there's a drop down list to choose from. Most modern religions are an option IIRC, at least by later in the game when I noticed said option.

Yeah, in general this is the game: it's bonus stacking all around, surrounded by fluff for color.
