This exactly. It's all about family play in 4X games for me. And this is basically a clone.
Same. I don't even play multiplayer over internet anymore.
As for the simultaneous turns - the first thing coming to mind is to make them optional. The game is turnbased anyway(unlike EU or HoI, which have no turns at all).

So it would be nice if it was implemented in Humankind.
If not in my eyes, the game may never go beyond Civ 6 no matter how hard it try.

A game with the same principle as Civ and offering less options than the competitor, that would be completely stupid.
Particularly when the option to add is not complicated to implement.
