Skiers being able to take lifts in both directions?
Is this currently possible and I am just not able to build something where people want to go in both directions? Otherwise I think that would be a useful feature to implement, Especially when you have a lift from a base station to a valley without a base station in it.

In the real world, most ski lifts don't allow riders to go down. That seems to be what the devs here did as well. if you need the skiers to go back down you must provide a slope for them to do so.

the notable exception being gondolas which can be used in either direction and I agree with Ilimor, it would be good to see that here because it would make choosing between a high capacity lift and low capacity gondola more important.

Yes generally that makes sense. But there are lots of instances in real life when lifts are used in both directions to connect areas.

Related: I've encountered a situation where the intended "top" station was actually slightly lower than the "bottom" station, which was in the village, so the lift ended up getting built going in the other direction from what I had intended.

Yeah that is a pain!

Having gondolas carry passengers in both directions would help in connecting the various locations on the map.

Typically, with exception of a few peak connectors, lifts go from the base to the ridge/peak. From there, you have trails down both/all sides. The skier makes the decision as to which base they want to go back to. This adds realistic design challenges when building the area. I haven't tested if not having a lift back causes problems like it would in the real world. Real mountain design would have lifts from both bases with trails leading to the other base.

This is a very good point you have raised here. I was thinking about it as well and good to read that with a gondola it does work two ways but apparently not with a chair lift especially if you go from your main ski area and connect lifts on the mountain with another ski town elsewhere on the map.
