Is it possible to win in the harvest scenario?
Without resorting to some other form of income?

Easy :)
Start with some organic chicken pens and maybe a greenhouse (for black currant).
Sell the eggs and money will come in quickly. You can then expand to maybe some sheep and sell the milk and wool.
This should give you the solid income to start buying or leasing the equipment you need and start harvesting.
I was done in 2024

i played nearly all of scenarios and they follow a similar pattern for me in year one. Get your base income up. As one only has 75k or so to start one really cannot buy tractors year one.

So i have started with animals first. I like both cows and chickens. And you can go organic which will bring in more money. The last few scenarios i have done i have gone with chickens.

So focus on year one to get your cash up, some employees, and by year 2 you should be able to buy a tractor. From i remember in my year 2 i had the employees harvest the fields to avoid having to buy a harvester.

Also, you can buy used equipment.

Since some of the scenarios have no timer, you have time to build up your income and cash flow. Once you build a good base you can expand from there and add equipment and larger fields. And so on.

Good Luck.

Here is my farm at start of year 2. I have a 4 cow sheds with 4 cows each. I actually was able to buy a cheap harvester that had like 15% life so it was cheap.(I have a few times gone without a harvester and taken off the peeps from the animal pens and sheds for a few days to harvest the crops, but you can only have a few big fields if you do not have a harvester, which is fine for year 2) Either way you can see at start of year 2 i have tractor, some equipment 150k in cash and making 77k a month.

I did keep the ostrich farm, some delete it for chickens or cow, or another animal.
