What do the well and pump do?

I have experimented with both, as far as i can tell they dont seem to have an affect on anything?

The pump has a radius and highlights my fields in green, but i still have to water the crops if it doesn't rain.

The well is used to water fields manualy.(If you selected allow manual labor) So you will not need the trailer with water. Not recommended for big fields, obviously. Mandatory for greenhouses.

That was my first thought, but i have manually watered fields with and without having a well, and when i did have it, workers never went near it, water trailer doesn't tend to be one of early purchases.

Thank you for this. My greenhouses were constantly complaining about lacking water and I had absolutely no idea why. The game does not explain these things very well.

Ive never built a well near my greenhouses and they watered. Its probably a bug because in FM2018 you needed wells or install the irrigation system which is missing in this one.
