I guess no drop is meant to be, but it would be really nice if he gave at least something, jusr for the good measure

I guess you're resuming a pre-DLC save. The DLCs (particularly Colors of Rot) have a couple weird side effects on older saves.

For me, the Giant of Eyes appeared in the Prey Gauntlet even though I never even went to Childbed. Not something I'd complain about, really.

In your case, I guess if you already got Warp it kind of makes sense he won't give you anything - though he definitely should, just for the trouble of dealing with him
