GRIME

Steam Deck Touchscreen locks the game
If I accidentally touch the Deck screen the game automatically switches to k/m controls and won't switch back to gamepad controls. I have to exit the game from the 'steam' button menu. Not ideal.
I can't find a way to disable the touchscreen at a Deck level (seems that according to a brief Google search you used to be able to but not anymore).
Any fixes or options I'm not seeing? Unfortunately I don't want to play the game like this in fear I'll accidentally touch the screen and lose progress.
Have a great day!

You can still disable it for when Grime is running.

You can't do this change while the game is actively running, you have to do it before startup.

What you need to do is to go to your controller settings, then to the Action Sets section where you should have just the "Default" one. Tap the cog icon and select "Add Always-On command". Then you tap on the (greyed out) box that says "Add command" and you'll get the big menu with all the command types. The right-most section would be "System". There you'll look for a box that says "Touchscreen off'. Select that, apply, save and restart the game. No more issues.

Awesome, Thanks so much!!! I would have never figured that out!!!!

Shame that Valve makes this so convoluted to do. A touchscreen on/off toggle in the quick menu would be very welcome.
