Weapon Tests

Hello,

I'm currently using the Bownails and Bowaxes because I find their special attack so cool. The Prying Sickles because their special move is OP (can that be?). The Bloodmetal Scythe because it looks so cool.

Unfortunately, you can't always use the Bloodmetal Scythe sensibly because its attack animation is so slow that many enemies interrupt you in the middle of the attack. If anyone has a tip I would be very grateful, it could become my favorite weapon.

I used the Chissel Nails for a while, but the very fast weapons just don't do enough damage for me.

I also don't warm to the glaives or the whip, even though they're so popular.

I also have a hard time with slow and very slow weapons. If the Bloodmetal Scythe wasn't so cool I wouldn't even touch it.^^

I would be interested in your opinion. What weapons you like and why, how you use them sensibly.

Unusual ideas are also welcome, and they don't have to be the "best" weapons. It sure is fun to test some new stuff in my NG+.^^

i just started, only at the 2nd zone and prob wont even upgrade a weapon for a long time, but i can say slow strong weapons are seem only used for jump attacks. if the scythe knocks enemies down like the hammers at least.

i cant quite figure out the very fast but weak daggers. seems awful against boss style enemies. maybe better fast weapons pop up or they simply require lots of stats + upgrades

a surprising strong weapon is the lantern that builds damage stacks to ignite, its a slow and heavy hp enemy killer. pretty unique weapon for a metroidvania and will see if it stays effective

Yes, made the same experience slow weapons are only useable with jump attacks. But the damage against bosses is insane. Some Bosses i killed with a few Jump attacks and absorbs.

Bowaxes are a valid weapon if you want to continue using them. I made it almost entirely through my first playthrough with only bowaxes.

I'm a fan of the tooth fists myself. Just hit people enough to get a stack to shoot at them and repeat for insane damage. Just need a big enough window to do the special attack.

speaking of weapons does anyone notice the nail scythe doesnt do the damage it lists? i cant figure out whats up with this weapon, the first hit does about 5 less damage than listed it seems

The tooth fists and Pincer Glaive make for a powerful combo. The fists build up tarbile stacks twice as quickly as the glaive, and its projectile attack is great for maintaining tarbile on a target at distance while the glaive's special attack is a fantastic burst damage tool.
