I disagree, the game was quite complete withat a DLC. It had some things we talked about, like for example trying out weapon movesets without investing points in it, but that doesn't need a DLC to do. At all.
Sure I know what sort of place is this, and some people would like everything for free, or "they would get angry" lol But yeah. You can of course chose not to buy a DLC and you are not angry because you didn't receive free stuff.
Bugfixes? Free quality of life updates? sure, that should be free.
A DLC adding new areas, bosses, all that jazz for free. Well that's quite generous. Of course others did it too like Hollow Knight, but it's far from being a thing we are entitled to ;)
In what way was the game incomplete before?
Lol well, for me personally that would be the right answer. I think for a small indie game like ours it generally makes more sense to foster goodwill, improve on the game, and hope that encourages word to spread, rather than try to get more out of the few fans we do have.
Though, for those that want to support farther monetarily, there are the additional music tracks you can buy on steam and which we updated with the DLCs and will continue to update if any future tracks that come out. :)
Small indie game like ours he sais.... So humble :) It's among the most polished Metroidvanias on Steam.
I saw once you mentioning Bloodstained, as a game with higher budget, but honestly Grime is a lot better.
