There have been many bug reports in this thread, including recipe errors, but none of the threads have received a reply from the development team since April. I think the development team got fed up with too many bugs and gave up. In fact, everyone here, including myself, has already bought the game, so the development team should have already paid for it without doing anything after this.
If the dev team wants to make more money with this game they should definitely fix the bugs. However, there is no merit for the development team to do so if they are already satisfied without doing such a thing. In that case, it would be more profitable to give up on this game as soon as possible and make another game.
You're right, now that they have their money, why waste time fixing bugs! They're probably working on another game. But be careful because if they get a bad reputation, their next game might not sell as well...
Yes it makes sense that they focus more on their most famous and profitable game. Chef life was probably created to fill a gap in their schedule, but I don't think that's a reason to leave players for months without fixing bugs. Certainly some have been resolved but others persist and spoil the desire to play. This game cost 30€, it's not nothing... It's not as if it would have cost 10€.... So I think that for 30€, a minimum should be done, even if all the efforts are focused on their most profitable game. They release a game with a lot of bugs, and well, it just needs to be fixed, just out of respect for those who have spent their money.
I tend to agree. Whilst I understand that bugs are a natural part of the gaming world, developer updates or providing an estimate time for the next update (even if it's not a patch - merely an explanation) wouldn't go amiss. Frozen District (House Flipper) are really good at this and very active on their Discord so it can be done I think.
PC gaming is fairly cheap, especially as you can use many websites outside of Steam for cheap keys. This is one of the more expensive games I've bought in the past year, a lot of games cost me under a tenner. I don't think £30 is cheap ultimately. I was torn about spending £30 on a game until I watched quite a lot of YouTubers. Why? Because I never spend over £20 on a game unless I'm adamant I'll get a lot of hours from it.
I have played a lot (40 hrs), but I can't play on any setting except calm mode due to not being able to use the fridge properly and certain recipes not behaving. This ruins the enjoyment for me if you add a timer to it. I'm guessing that's why a lot of people are frustrated. I do think console players appear to have it far worse at the moment though, so there is a saving grace for PC players there.
