plating food

what am i doing wrong here? i am at the tutorial in the game. i made my first dish. i am in the plating thing where i arrange my dish the way i want. how the hell do i get out of this thing. am i stupid or something?

i don't get it.i had to close program. there is no way out of the plating thing once you are in it. and how much you want to be that i have to do this whole thing over again because it didn't save up to this point.

if you redo the plating you have to finish its entirety i.e. go through every "next step". If you are stuck on a step check your ingredients, they should all have a green checkmark. if not you need to add more to the dish before you can proceed

Same issue. Would not allow me to leave the plating portion even though I wanted to use the original plating.

i had to stop the program.

i had the meat, pottatos, shallets. what else do i need. it looks like kethup and mayo in tiny bowls. but no clue how to get kethup and mayo. if thats what i have to do?

I am stuck in plating now too. I found you can change meat cut and chips type even sauce bowls but for some reason it always selects more of whatever option I am on (for example if I place saucer it has another one ready or meat more meat or chips more chips!) so am stuck and can't get past plating phase! It never moves to garnish phase... always shows "previous phase" light up. I tried controller and keyboard. Were you guys able to get past it?

I reloaded and got past plating phase by changing the type of chip shape to skinny rectangles lol

I just bought the game and I like you, I was stuck in the plating tutorial with no advance or exit, and came here looking for an answer. The "next step" button was grayed out. Here's what I figured out/did to get past it:

One the right side where you select your item, you can use the arrow keys to change how you want your item to look. ie: meat can be sliced, french fries can be bagged, etc. You'll also notice a vertical red/green bar with a "min" line. You have to reach the "minimum" amount of food on the plate to advance, but you can't advance if you out too much (all red bar). Note that your food list will also display a green check mark when you have the right amount on the plate.

To advance, I put down a pile of french fries, then changed the fries to a single fry. I added one by one until I reached the right amount (I believe it was +2 extra fries to the pile) to get the green check mark. I did the same with the shallots: pile then single shallot until it was enough. I sliced the meat, added that, and then added single slices of meat until it was "min" with a green check.

When all of my food items had a green check mark, the "next step" button was lit up and I could advance to the next step!

I have to say that as a tutorial, which is supposed to teach you the basics, this is sadly lacking in instruction! Anyway, hope this helps you if you're stuck.

So after the tutorial you can skip the 'arranging the plate' when serving? Its optional? Played 45minutes last night of the Tutorial and I too am not understanding/liking the plate rearrangement lol
