How to put spices back
How can you put back spices if you accidentally pick up the wrong ones

click on the spices on the left that are in your inventory to return them.

When I go back to the spice rack there is no option to return them and I'm not able to highlight then in my inventory

Still this problem!!!!
This game has quite a lot of these problems....

Maybe it works with keyboard but the controls are soooo tedious and unintuitive on keyboard!!!

From what I've tried, I think you can put it back in the same way you would put it back if you accidentally took out the wrong food from the refrigerator. However, there is a possibility that there are bugs in this game because I do not know what is buggy and what is not.

Click on the spice button on lower left. When you pick spices, the one you picked will be on lower left and you can click it to return it

I'm having this same exact issue in the middle of service to level up Adele. I've tried both k+m and xbox controller nothing works. It just says "No More Space" on both the spice rack and character UI. Very frustrating.

My entire service requires 7 spices and can only hold 6. Is this a consistent bug and I'll have to micromanage my spices before each service?

For those with this issue (and yes it is indeed a BUG!), cut your loses if you're in the middle of service and quit the game entirely and relaunch (unless you have sous chefs who can do the job for you like they did for me).

I went into the next day and my character could not put anything back not just the spices! Luckily, exiting the game entirely worked and my game is safe. . .for now.

There are only 6 inventory spaces, so use them interchangeably. Return the spices that have been used in one process to the rack to free up space, and when you are sure there is space, take the seventh spice.

I just learned this last night, but with my previous reply you’ll see I quit the game entirely and relaunched which fixed this spice rack bug. Thank you for the help though. I just hope this bug doesn’t happen too often especially during service while completing sous chef quests, a lot of time got wasted with similar bugs.
