But Chef Life's controls while simpler, feel more 'finicky' (likely just needs polishing/bug fixing). Takes a bit getting used between E, F, Space keys but mainly my issue is sometimes there's problems using W/S to swap between picking up or placing stuff.
I like that we no longer have to keep referring to a stationary TV to see the next steps but I also preferred having all the instructions. My main nitpick is that the pinned recipe doesn't show AVOID steps. So I'm always afraid of setting heat too high to speed up cooking.
Also the lack of freedom to prep, no sandbox/free mode to practice and the fact you can only practice to unlock recipes in the morning during prep time are definitely downsides.
That said, I'm glad we have a new chef-sim game and been enjoying it so far.
Maybe simplier graphics, butr the playstyle, management and storyline put's Chef Life in a different category.
