FROSTY PULSES!
"The development of Stage 3 is almost at the end! However, we identified a significant amount of bugs that, in part, resulted from the Unreal Engine update. Therefore, we have decided to take extra time to allow us to concentrate on fixing up all these bugs. Once that is done, we will proceed to release the update"
1 year ago, suddenly it went from almost done, just fix bugs and it is released, to "we are 70% done and with all the bugs". If this is still being developed, it seems like their progress is backwards, since I think we can both agree that "almost done, just need to fix bugs and release" is absolutely more than 70% + bugs. They should have gone from 70% done to "just need to fix bugs", not the other way around, much less after 2 years. And remember, this is only stage 3/6, without including the updates they say they would add in the store page:
・Additional playable characters.
・Around 10 additional close combat skills.
・Adjustments to ranged attacks.
・A new EXP. system allowing players to choose which stats to increase.»
Just because they released the stage 3 private beta, the very same one they had been working on for 3 years now, doesn't mean this is still in development, it just means they released what they had 3 years ago. That wasn't an update. Face it, this game got us scammed.
It doesn't take longer to work out bugs in 1 level than it does to develop an entire game...
Unless you're Yandev, but that's not exactly someone I would want to be compared with. Heck, at least he posts updates. Not game updates, just excuses as to why he's only added like 4 lines of code in the past month (but check out my Twitch channel plsopls), but at least hear from him.
Upon checking steamdb there haven't been any updates since 5 months ago at all.[steamdb.info]
One, rather than bugs showing up, if the update changed something then the code would most likely simply not compile on the parts that changed.
Two, updates are not mandatory. Heck, you can have multiple unreal engine version on your PC, so if it filled what they had with bugs, why the hell not simply use the previous version they had been using so far? Updating the game engine while you are developing the game and have no idea of what it will cause is simply idiotic. This is not some 1080P 4K graphics game, what did the new version had that the previous version, the one they intended to develop the game in, didn't that they refuse to use it even after "being stuck with bugs" for over 3 years?
Idk, but to me it feels extremely fishy, and like they are simply giving any excuse to not say "yeah, we are not doing this anymore"
I know probably actually way before then, but that's when the Stage 3 beta went live at least.
