Why Neutral rating?
This game looks gorgeous tbh. Why the hate?

Looks aren't everything. I am going to play it more before I put up a review. But if I did right now I would give it a recommend. Not bad for a mobile port :t0cactuar:

Personally, it's not hate. For a game that came to PC you'd think it already supports m/k. They implemented it in a day 1 patch which isn't a good sign, even then it's poorly implemented. Some buttons don't even exist. There is no options to tweak, nothing.

well I'm playing on XBOX or I would like to say that,
game wont even start on XBOX-X, so I imagine on PC is even worst

Why would you assume it's "hate"?

Game just seems to be extremely bland and the PC port looks really shoddy.

I don't know. Maybe my expectations were too high. Neutral = flop

After google translating a lot of the Japanese reviews, it appears to lack barebones basic customization features like resolutions, and as others have said the K+M input was an extremely last minute inclusion that doesn't seem to be working properly or is missing some essential actions.

It's 2021 and people are just fed up with and sick of zero-effort port jobs at this point.

I watched some gameplay on youtube and the dev play,
I don't think I want this game anymore, it's not what I expected earlier when there's no gameplay around.
This game is kinda too slow for me and missing some features.

I like the art tho, yea it's gorgeous.

Apart from the amazing art direction, I dont think this game does anything remotely unique that warrants its 40$ price tag. Played for roughly 5 hours before coming to the conclusion that this game isn't for me. I am a sucker for turn based games but there are so many things that are jarring about this game.

Why are jobs permenant? I cant even experiment with stuff because I have to commit to a single one for an entire playthrough. The battle encounter animation is too long and gets annoying really fast. While overworld movement is fine, battle action animations are painfully slow. The skill tree certainly seems to have quite a few options. The combat is either piss easy or straight up unfair. The balancing in this game is all over the place.

Coupled with the above factors and the fact that this is a very barebones PC port, I can understand why people are dissapointed about this game. There are no resolution options, KB+M support was added last minute and it shows because of the issues with keys not working.

The music itself is fine in a vacuum but it is odd how sometimes the music doesnt really match the feel of whats going on in the game. All in all, I just feel like this is an OK game carried by its incredible aesthetics and soundtrack.

You can try it for free on gamepass - it's nothing special , story too childish, characters too boring, game tries to take itself seriously but doesn't succeed...

Big meh.

Ever heard the famous saying graphics aren't everything? Lol. Top of my head, Battle Chasers, incredibly similiar and superior in every single way other than graphics maybe.

This game is gorgeus if you like big butts and long legs.
For person who prefers natural look isnt there anything gorgeus. More like awful art choise. Like big boobs wasnt enough to get young men to play a game.

Also not a single review what i readed wasnt impressed with game. So neutral seems to be fair.
As i like strategy games i come to look extra information but reading they released PC game without kb and mouse support ....

If some one is selling a car without doors, is it still called a car ?

Tl;dr - at this point, i don't recommend it.

This review is written at the desert area at chapter 3.

The hand-drawn style is great. The whole characters with different sprite classes, and even their enemies have distinct appearance. This was one of the biggest reason why i followed this game from a long time. BUT then, the gameplay disappoint me.

At first, i thought this game is inspired by Valkyrie Profile (with 4 diamond lineup, photon/crystal freeze enemies, and so on). But it's not the same. The positional lineup? enemies can still hit your DPS (mage) protected on the back side of your formation, unlike Valkyrie Profile.

The tag system doesn't work well. At first, i thought the tag will work like FFX, where you can tag, and go right away taking action. No, in this game, you'd waste your turn. Which is okay and flexible enough, IF the enemies are not so badly designed.

On early chapters, the enemies are balanced. Couple of weird placed enemies, but nothing too serious. And then i reached chapter 3. There are 2 types of enemy-groups that made me think, this game is not well-designed.

1. 7 (seven) enemies that have quite high speed, and heavy hitting insects. You'd think, "ah, it's not too bad right?" Yes, it's not that bad IF you can protect your Damage dealer. Like i said earlier, position don't matter. Even if you put your nuker on the back, the enemies can still attack you repeatedly. Most of the time, i had to spam revive item while killing and reducing the numbers of those enemies. Is this the intended way of playing by the devs?

2. 2 knights type enemies that's invulnerable against physical damage. You'd think, "just do magic damage then" Yes, but that's not the problem. In this game, you can get stunned whole-party 4 turns in a row from those knights. What's that? i should wear stun-proof accessory? Yeah, it cost 10k a piece.

Job system looks cool, with using constellation as the progression system (similar to FFX Grid.. or skyrim i guess). Your character will change the appearance based on the job. As i said, the art style is the best aspect of the game. But, the execution is lacking. You can't see the preview of the class, usable equipments, and so on. (Think of it like highlight of your class). They have none. So either you have to accept and job change to said class, and if you don't like it, load to your previous saves.

Well, they have way to check what skills/ nodes from specific class, by opening the journal/ compendium. Hopefully this will change.

I could go on more detail, but i guess from these points, they're enough to show that i don't recommend the game. Good concept, great arts, bad execution. Hopefully the devs will improve the game.

People are judging this game way too harshly is the thing.

They compare a game developed by a small team of roughly 20 persons to giant Square Enix teams of hundeds.

The game is far from perfection. It could heavily benefit from being faster paced, some sentences sound really odd written in english (not too many though) and the audio mixing is quite poor but I still like the game quite a bit.

I'm really frustrated at people complaining about voice acting though. The american voice acting is really solid across the board. The Migmies are meant to sound very weird and simple. If you listen to their voice in japaense they are exactly the same. They can say only one word at a time. The audio mixing is making the voice acting sounding worse than it should be but it's most likely a consequence of actors recording from home instead of being in a studio (Persona 5 Strikers suffered the same fate despite a much higher budget).

It's not the best JRPG of all time, but it's a really solid one with some truly unique concepts and a pretty interesting universe and characters imho.

I completely agree. Not the GOTY of course but I find some little things interesting, like having a married couple in the team, an old thief instead of the usual young orphan thief...

The game is not without flaws but it's definitely enjoyable. If I had a major complaint it's the game over that happens when the 4 characters fighting die. I expected the 4 in backrow to take over but they didn't.
