Food question
i have question about food. There is food summary - processed food 10, raw food 90, total 100
but i dont understand difference between normal corn and polenta example. 3 corn = 3 polenta, so what difference, why should i cook polenta, as it spend same amount corn. or that polenta, or other cooked meal give you some bonus, or people will less hungry? this i dont understand.
From 3 berries i can do 5 muesli, so its better, i have 2 more food, beet same 3=5, tomato 3=4, but corn 3=3

When your population grows they will ask for better housing, food variety and cooked food. If you get enough, you get a productivity bonus, and if you don't get enough, you get a malus.
I think the thresholds are 30 pop and 50 pop, you get a notification saying that your villager needs have increased.

The cooked food makes your people happier when it comes to food quality desires/needs

Sort of like giving someone a raw potato to eat, or serving it to them as a baked potato instead. It's still 1 potato, but the cooked one is going to be appreciated better

Hi Reitak

I totally agree with you. We also think that farming, as well as how the satisfaction level works will need some improvements. We'll gather all your feedback and improve it over time.

Thank you for posting! Keep all the feedback coming, we're counting on this ^^

Cheers,
Markus

happier people make them work better, and in return they can farm more and waste less food. I actually felt (not proven) cooked food make villagers full longer...

2 suggestions, would be nice to add work time, how much time will take plant and harvest i dont know wheat, then how much time flour and how much time for bread. it would be nice to know, because example farm wheat will take 1 minutes, windmill flour will take 2 min, so now i know 2 farm is good for 1 windmill, then bakery bread 4 minutes, so then i know i need to have good 2 windmill 2x2 min for 1 bakery, so 4 farm for 2 windmill

and second suggestion, disable for example berries to eat. i need have now for example 30 berries to festival, but i simple cant storage enough it, people nonstop eating it, so i need to set dont eat this type of food

its just annoying that corn grows slower and only makes 3 polenta seems like it would be better to take the hit on production since we're going to starve to death in this desert unless i just give them 300 servings of berry muesli every day

It's probably perfectly calculated.
You could take a slower growing crop (60%) and make 3 raw food to 5 cooked food and you would get cooked food at the same rate because 60% of 5 is 3, equivalent to 100% speed growth for 3 potenta.

Oh, yes please. This is my first settlement game, and I find so much stuff just isn't explained. I had no idea what they wanted when they said they wanted food our housing quality, because I had more than enough food and houses for everyone. Frequently, buildings say they are missing resources, but I have zero clue what resources they are missing to try to fix it. I ended up having to google a lot of what I was doing and I still don't fully understand what is happening most of the time.

Oh! The planting/harvesting toggles on the farm confused me to no end for the longest time. They are backwards to how you'd think they would be. And I also didn't realize you could have neither pressed so they'd do both for a long time. I was actually flipping it back and forth thinking I had to manually tell them when to plant and when to harvest.
