I'll cut to the chase. The only reason I tried this game is because I heard it was somehow tied to the same universe as the Mana Khemia series. I'm a huge fan of the Mana Khemia IP and have been left with nothing to scratch my alchemic itch for a depressingly long time. Internet boards told me this was the next step in the evolution of the series. I figured I'd start here as it seemed more polished than most of the other points of entry. Long story short, it's definitely not what I was hoping for, but it's a good game in its own right, and I can see why people love it. It really is cozy, relaxing, and crafting is addicting (if you like crafting). I love the soundtrack too. The battle system isn't anywhere near as polished or fun as Mana Khemia, but it was decent enough. It's technically not a great looking game, but the art style salvaged it. The controls are light, floaty, and whimsical like those cheap fan-servicey dollar-store JRPGs but it's not ever really to the point where it becomes a problem.

The game is easy as hell, but that pairs well with what this game is. The story isn't bad at all, considering the lighthearted nature of it. The characters are likable for the most part, and the female characters are thicc. Easy plus there. In the end I felt like this was mostly not what I was looking for, and felt more like Mana Khemia for babies, but it ended up a pretty chill ride regardless. I think I may check out the sequel to see how they ended up down the road. If you know of any game like Mana Khemia feel free to recommend it to me in the comments. I'm dying here.
