PSA: Game Crash (Paladin Officer / Gerald campaign spoiler)
If you have not made it through Gerald's seventh mission yet, this bug should not affect you. Minor spoiler in the description below.

------------------------------------------------------

On the eighth mission where Rupert leads a paladin troop escort to Owltors, Gerald's infantry troop has an open slot for an aide. I usually like to place a Paladin officer for in-combat healing emergencies. Paladin officers are Edward, Brendan, and Harold.

When a Paladin officer has the Holy skill, their B+Y button special ability is like an in-battle Curatio. It heals soldiers that are not at full HP in the troop. After multiple attempts I have always gotten a game crash right as the officer raises their mace to execute the in-battle heal.

Take this as a warning that using the Paladin's ability as an aide may crash your game. Tested in Gerald's campaign - I do not know if this would cause a crash in Kendal's campaign. As the devs seemed responsive to an accidental change in troop resists, they will probably help us out with bug fixes. Fingers crossed!

I'm getting a crash as well in Lucretia's campaign fighting the paladin's in the last level. Crashes just as the paladin's leader uses their leader skill and I haven't interrupted them. Have no way of knowing if it's the healing skill since it never gets to go off and I just crash with an exception access error.

That's really interesting.. I want to say it must be their in-combat healing ability like in my case. I tested Bless and Heal for 800 SP and that proc'd fine twice in a row. IIRC Paladin leaders cannot use Onslaught or other abilities, so maybe it's the heal?
Yeah. It's happened 3 times in the past hour now. I'm getting past it by finding them and killing them quickly or just switching to another of my units when I get the notice. It's especially triggering when I'm right there and the little ♥♥♥♥ raises his mace to cast and I crash.

I have a new theory about this bug. During some attempts to mod the game in terms of the equipment shop, I *think* I caused a similar error to what happens with the Paladin officer healing ability. I'm not entirely sure, but if the code for Leader abilities is in a plain text file, we could probably fix this ourselves. I'll try to find out more.

theyve stated there will be a patch for this monday. it happens when you are in hero mode and a paladin heals you with a certain officer spell. enemy paladin officers can make you crash too
