Was a backer. Played demo that was super clunky a while ago. Waited a long time for a release version. 12 minutes in, fell through the map 2 times. oh well still not ready at all..

Terrible AI that just stands around not attacking you, I've killed a boss and it didn't say anything just let me exit the level. Collectibles not being picked up unless you run over them multiple times, buttons for lifts do not work, falling through the map. movement is like you're on ice and theirs an ammo system but it does not show you have much ammo you have.

Only good thing about this game is the art style and sound design. Other then that avoid at all costs

Fulqrum and FPS goes hand in hand usually, but this isnt finished. Im worried because I dont see an early access tag on this game. Most of the animations are unfinished, the enemies will spawn directly in front of you while you are fighting them and it genuinely looks like a glitch, theres virtually no animations for most of the enemies, its just a flat picture that they add a muzzle flash to when they fire at you. The vibe of this game is so off, so weird, it feels like a vertical slice, a proof of concept you send to investors to convince them that in 4 years it will be something truly great.
If this was in early access I would say go play Forgive Me Father 1 or Wrath Aeon of Ruin or even Hands of Necromancy 2 which came out the same day this game did, while we wait for the real Chains of Fury to come out. But, if you're marketing this as a finished product right now, I'm worried the real Chains of Fury will never come out.
don't get it twisted though there's a lot of potential here, when it works the shooting feels very punchy, the ability to pick up and kick explosive barrels at enemies is a novel idea, there is some fun to be found here, it just needs a lot of work to feel like a finished product.
A lot of these reviews talk about how buggy and glitchy it is, that stuff can be fixed, But from my time playing I wonder if some of the features in the game are being seen as glitches because they really feel like it. The model Layering is really poorly done in this game so youll see the sprites clipping and phasing through walls and other textures all the time, its very disorienting. Activating Fury mode turns the whole game black and white but keeps the enemies at full color and it shows them all through walls. Sounds cool but it looks really weird because you can see enemies that are half a level away behind multiple walls just standing there, there isn't a color change on the model to indicate that they aren't in the same room as you so it just looks like a bunch of 2d sprites of varying sizes photo-shopped onto the screen. The whole game just looks so weird in motion, I feel like other Fulqrum Fps really figured out how to do 2d sprites in a 3d environment a lot better than this.
The devs have been responding to reviews, I'm not the biggest fan of copy pasted responses from devs, it makes it look like some robot is sifting through the negative reviews instead of a human being who actually cares about the success of their creation. But, in that automated response they say that there's a big update coming that should address a lot of peoples issues. I don't think an update can fix it completely but I will try the game again after said update to see what changes.
