One other thing I will try is to check my antivirus settings . I've had some weird issues with bluetooth and usb devices in the past (not recently however) where my laptop security software (ESET) would block connections to unknown devices. This was enabled by me, but I'm fairly certain I had disabled it the last time I ran into some issues with a webcam and once with a bluetooth mouse, but its worth looking into.
Hey there,
Firstly, good call on checking the antivirus settings - it's something we hadn't considered, but since most of our users with Keon problems find out it's a Bluetooth issue, that's definitely worth a look.
Additionally, a couple of our users in Discord found their problem was the range of their bluetooth dongle and/or body obscuring the signal. A USB extender cable placed closer to the user solved that problem for both of them.
Another user found that he had to turn off his phone's bluetooth to keep it from picking up the toy instead of his computer.
As far as dongles, any cheap one from Amazon should do fine, but we have an Asus one here in the studio that works great.
And we encourage folks to hop on our Discord, since many folks in our community use the Keon and are intimately familiar with its quirks.
I'm getting really close to asking for a refund because getting the game to work properly shouldn't be this ridiculous.
We are currently working on an update that integrates Intiface Central directly, due to this very issue. We think this will eliminate a lot of the connection headache that our Kiiroo users in particular have been experiencing.
The update is currently in the public beta. Please give it a try and let us know.
(Previously, we'd been using a specialized version of Buttplug that qdot had developed for us to build directly into ViRo, because we didn't want people to have to download something separate if we could help it. It was a great solution back then, but as Intiface Central has grown more and more into the expected mode of connection, our built-in seems to cause more difficulty than it solves.)
Thanks for the update! I've had a rough work week and can't wait to finally try this out for some much needed stress relief. Do I just connect to Intiface and have it running in the background while ViRo is open?
I also have a question about the bluetooth dongle you use, which could possibly help solve the in-game connection issue. I bought the Asus USB-BT500 dongle because you said your in-house one is an Asus. After doing some googling to try and solve my problem, I found out that apparently bluetooth 5.0 dongles might be the cause. Is your in-house one the BT400? There could be some kind of bluetooth compatibility issue even though 5.0 is supposed to be backwards compatible with the previous versions.
Aaa! SO glad to hear this! Thanks for letting us know <3
Some details: this latest update has ViRo using Intiface Central for adult toy integration, which decouples ViRo Playspace from the adult toys system to provide rapid updates for adult toy support without having to push an entire Steam update. Just run the Intiface Central app, connect your toys, then open ViRo Playspace and you're good to go. Make sure to leave Intiface Central running in the background.
