BTW - Why dosent it link with the Lovense "Remote" or "Media Player" ?
This does NOT work with the Lovense dongle at the moment, and I am not sure if the ViRo devs are looking into compatibility through that interface instead. I have not looked into universal Bluetooth adapters in its stead; This is mostly because ViRo seems to be dead in the water, so I'm not investing in more tech for it. However, it does seem to work through my laptop, which is a gaming-build with Bluetooth capabilities.
As far as the Lovense Remote/Media Player question: Assuming that you mean 'Why doesn't [ViRo Playspace] link with them', the reason is that this would become a hellish game of telephone. Logistically, this is what would need to happen in between two Remote/ViRo users:
- Player A would send an impulse from their toy, which the phone will pick up
- The phone will then somehow send this impulse to Player A's PC
- This would then have to be translated by Player A's PC into the appropriate commands within ViRo (Which is both for the receiving toy, as well as on-screen animations)
- Once it's translated into a response, this would then be sent across the network to Player B's PC
- Player B's ViRo would then have to work in reverse, and translate that command back into an impulse message to be sent out to Player B's phone
- Player B's phone would finally pass the impulse on to Player B's toy to react
Naturally, each of these steps do take time (merely milliseconds), but this builds up to the point that it could lag out into 5-10 second response times. Likewise, each of these steps also cause further distancing and potential for data corruption and loss, which would easily throw both of your 'games' off.
However, I would highly recommend that a great workaround for this would be to simply use ViRo Playspace's future Social Club platform as a meet-and-greet, where you can simply exchange Remote info and 'play' directly with each other (assuming, of course, that both of you have Lovense toys).
Anyway - Sad to hear that the Project seem to be Dead. It's a good Idea... Uthervers/Redlight Center allso did run good... at least the Time i have used it, years ago.
Perhaps I am being too hasty in calling the project officially dead, but it is certainly in a vegetative state.
