They talked about it in the streams, basically mods are going to be supported down the line, but it's not like L4D2 workshop, its weird, it's kinda server-side mods (as in everyone playing are going to see them) but they also talked about it in the way of dedicated community servers or something like that.

So yeah, mod support is going to exist, but there will be specifics

That's kinda of a bad move then because you will be limited to this and that and you can only use these certain types of mods on server specific (which is extremely lacking), honestly its one of the failures when it comes to the unreal engine it self, is that it doesn't allowed you to use things that you like in the form of client side mods meaning you be able to play on official servers without issues without conflicting or ruining with other player's perspectives.
