Plastering 99% solve:

In short, knock out the stairs and check where the top step connects.
more context:
On 2 of the build a whole house contracts i got stuck at 99% plastered despite covering all visible area, i got annoyed and took a sledge hammer to the stairs and found that behind the top step although caught by spray wasn't skimmed, skimmed it and finished the house with no stairs in. I tried every angle to get that space on the next contract build but couldn't without knocking out the stairs. Hope this helps someone, it took me 2+ hours of playtime to complete a simple contract due to restarting it twice and scouring the whole house every time and I saw that a few others were having this issue to but only getting the unhelpful (to the situation) advice of checking windows/doors. best wishes, hopefully the bugs are fixed soon. (Not calling this a bug, more of an annoyance but there is a number of bugs that are bothering my play at the moment)

Edit: Update that highlights empty spots fixed this for me - but as this post mentioned - always check the stairs!

tops of windows is my usual missed spot, besides that just going over every surface with the plaster gun in one direction around the house may pop up something, best of luck (I don't think I finished chapter 8 yet sorry)

Thank you! I was running around the house for probably at least 15 minutes checking every window and door. Knocked the stairs down and boom, there it was.

unfortunately I don't know, if there is any inset walls or bits under window ledges maybe but I don't think I've done that contract so I can only really suggest checking those or going one wall at a time in a specific direction with the plaster sprayer and seeing if anything shows up sorry. Its definitely a big oversight by the devs to have such indistinguishable colours/ only have the incomplete colours show on half the walls
Good luck, hopefully they listen to us soon this has been an issue since early access thats only been exacerbated with increasing bugs

I just had the 99% plastering problem in house without the stairs.
I found the missing piece - it was lower part in entry, because it was blocked by the open door during plastering...
... so i closed the door and redid that one small part.

I'm stuck in contract 10 and see 2 bare hollow bricks in the doorway, but can't do anything with those and the tools like cement mixer disappeared so the game thinks I'm done but not done with the house at the same time


*eh nevermind.. I just had to do the whole contract again

I came back to this game after an elongated pause, hopeing that some problems would be patched out.

They have not. And its incredibly disheartening to see that the developers dont reply to bugs that are softlocking players, especially since this bug is not new at all and happened to me before my absence.

Will not pick up another game by this developer.

They have made updates that make the game better. The super bright spots where you missed spraying is a huge help finding missed spots. If you watch the completion percentage to make sure you have all your spraying done before using the smoothing tool you will very rarely have to hunt for a spot.

As far as your spending choices with this developer goes, don't expect anyone to try stopping you or patting you on the back.
