Report a translation problem
Have you tried to verify the game cache in Steam (right-click on the Shadowgrounds: Survivor game in your Steam Library, click on properties and choose local files-tab and the button to verify integrity of game cache should be there)? How about reinstall?
You could also just try different resolutions or other options through the Launcher. Does this make any difference?
If that didn't help you could also try launch Steam as administrator when you try to verify the game cache and start the game. Also reinstalling PhysX and PhysX legacy could work. Here are the links for the download:

Just in case you could also try to update your system and graphics card drivers. If this doesn't help we'll look into this.

-reinstalling game several times
-verifying intergrity of cache a few times with steam launched in administrator mode, this resulted a few times in a fail which led to a file download of 1.3 kbytes but then I launch the game, still nothing happens and when i reverify the cache right after it leads to a fail and a download of a 0 byte file
-updated all drivers
-reinstalled legacy
-retried to modify launch options (resolution, graphics etc) in many many ways

PhysX Legacy driver the game starts and i can play.

For those still having problems did you try to install PhysX Legacy[www.nvidia.com]? You don't need to downgrade your PhysX, installing PhysX Legacy will add you the necessary files.
Did you try things I mentioned above (first post)?
If the instructions didn't help could you tell your full system specifications? Did you see any errors?

Unfortunately can't say much to this but this kind of error would indicate there's something wrong with the installation. Could there be a firewall blocking or quarantening the game's files?
You could also try to launch the game through it's .exe (located at ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Shadowgrounds Survivor).
