Shade fight bug? (Nintendo Switch)

Sorry to post this here, but the Switch doesn't have a discussion option for games and my PC's too old to run this on Steam.

When fighting the shade in the warehouse, I can't get it to absorb the crate on the right. I have googled this many times but all the walkthroughs seem to get it first time.
I try shining the torch at the shade to make it go away. It just kills me.
I shoot the flare at it and/or attack it with the mirror or pistol. It leaves via the crate opposite the door, not absorbing it.
No matter what I do, I can't seem to get it to travel to the crate on the right and absorb it.
Is this a bug or do I just suck at this bit?

Hi Lumi, this does sound like a bug (however I can't be 100% sure). Unfortunately, we only developed the original PC game and the PS/XB versions- but not the Switch version and I can't really help. Switch was done by our partners at Modus. It'll be best to head over to their support form and ask about this directly: https://modusgames.com/support/
