i tried it again and the same thing happened. He just ran off. He wouldn't jump in. I followed him around trying to get him to get in but he wouldn't no matter what i tried.
did you call the dog to have him following you before you got into the car?
Yes, i even tried to just get him to follow me and i would just walk to the ranch but he would not follow, just keeps running off.

The dog should always stay in the vicinity of the owner or in eye site, Unless you tell him to stay, like in Mist Survival.
My dog lasted a day and has gone, don't know where he is.
Yeah got another one and lock him in house with food and water now, when I don't want him to follow.
Found the other dog. 10 metres from his kennel, food and water. Dead, by the fuel Tanker. Maybe he was sniffing petrol and it go the better of him.
