Recently in a patch we added a net for those experiencing issues with falling through the floor, that catches you and your vehicle and should spawn you back at the Ranch.
Could you provide me with more info to help us investigate the issue?
Who was the host and who was the client? Was it just the client that was driving when the car fell through?
Did the game crash immediately after the vehicle fell through?
When reloading the previous save was the vehicle then not there?
What are the specs of the hosts PC? (GPU, CPU?)
I myself, was hosting and my cousin Toaster was the client. The Client was driving on his own on the dirt road to Ranch from the General store . Soon after he crosses the Rail Road Tracks he would fall through the ground and his game would freeze a second after. He couldnt open the menu or attempt to leave the vehicles. He would have to force close the game. We then lost both a truck and UTV in the same spot when he drove on his own but we also lost a Roster and a egg basket so we lost about $2,000 of stuff. The truck or UTV never came back even after i Reloaded the game after a save. if i didnt save after this bug ate our vehicles i would have lost 4 hours or so worth of work.
CPU is i7-9700F
GPU is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super
Those specs are yours (hosts)? They're really good, I wouldn't expect your PC to have miscalculated something for the client then.. Could I also get the clients specs?
What I'm going to do next then, is ask for your save file and try to reproduce the issue on our end. Our current theory is something may have corrupted in your save and when you're driving to the Ranch, it loads in and then causes an issue with physics/the driving (most often the issue happens whilst a client is driving back to the ranch, but I've also seen it happen as a client anywhere).
Could you please send an email to support@excalibur-games.com with your save file and all of the details you've told me about the issue. The save file (ranchsave.sav) is located in: AppData\Local\Ranch_Simulator\Saved\SaveGames
To access this location, you can do the following:
- Press the windows key and R together to open the run command
- type in %appdata%/../local/Ranch_Simulator and press ok
Let them know the email is for Amber please :)
No specs on the Client, but should have been just as good as my specs
this happened in the exact spot on my buddys game , and we lost his truck
can we get it back without going back to a different save file?
or is all the work we done after that going to be lost just to get the truck back? @ambereon
and go do the game crashes trouble shooting section and do what it says. I did it
and my friend did it. No more problems for us.
If you can't fix it, at least add an option to reset your and your vehicle's position to ranch manually
We actually are looking into this, and are blocking out a large amount of time to make some exciting and important changes to the game (including optimisation, and hopefully a solution for this desync issue). This is all planned for after the current roadmap.
Quoting my response to another post regarding this issue:
Currently, we are looking into the issue of desync but without being able to reproduce it ourselves, we aren't sure what is causing the issue other than an unstable network. We have tried various PCs, same building network as each other, different building network, network connection over different countries, bandwidth reduction, playing on problem saves from players, playing on our own saves etc and have not been able to replicate the desync issue.
So all I can do right now, whilst we work towards starting our large optimisation update, is give our players some tips to prevent this from happening that others have said works for them.
Those tips are the following:
- Drive slowly when getting back to the Ranch, to give it time to load for everyone
- The host should drive where possible if the client is having issues with the vehicle, especially if it flies off into the air
- Stop the vehicle fully and wait a few seconds before the client gets out, to prevent them from teleporting a distance away
- Please make sure your PC is up to date, and you're not doing anything else that uses your network's bandwidth (eg streaming, or anyone else in the house accessing it)
Edit: Dont use anything that uses bandwith in coop XD (No Teamspeak no Discord) ayyyyyyyy way to go coop but we are not allowed to talk to eachother
